Director of Digital Banking

The Director of Digital Banking will oversee the Credit Union’s digital channels through collaboration with MACU’s business units, the Information Technology team, and vendors as well as leveraging best practices to ensure delivery of digital products and services that align to MACU’s strategic goals. This position plays a key role in evolving the member experience across all pieces of the digital product ecosystem that lead to member experience advantages that reward MACU by deepening member relationships.  Reporting to the SVP, this role will serve as the execution and delivery point for digital services.

  1. Provides managerial oversight for areas of responsibility, including assigned staff and functional deliverables. Effectively manages personnel, ensuring optimal performance. Provides leadership to personnel through objective setting, delegation and communication.  Train, direct and coach personnel providing assistance and support as needed.  Conducts performance appraisals.  Formulates and implements training plans for personnel.

  1. Coordinates and actively participates in research, development and optimization of the digital user experience including digital banking, digital new account systems, e-documents, bill-pay, e-signature, remote deposit capture, real-time payments, as well as future offerings.

  1. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and make recommendations for ways to improve MACU’s digital platforms and lifecycle integrations ensuring MACU’s digital resources provide maximum benefit to members and internal teams resulting in deeper member engagement and cost efficiencies across the digital channels.

  1. Defines roadmaps in collaboration with management and key stakeholders (IT, Marketing, Lending, Operations, Member Services, Compliance, and Risk) to align product roadmaps with business unit needs while considering industry trends and product performance analytics. Executes approved digital roadmap that continuously improves the member experience and engagement with enhancements that are brought to market on target and deliver stated objectives and goals.

  1. Provides operational and cost analysis in making recommendations to enhance existing product features. Ensure on-going cross-functional collaboration with all business functions, consistently delivering relevant end-to-end member and staff experience across all digital channels and touchpoints.

  1. Responsible for leading due diligence process associated with new third-party digital vendors and products.

  1. Actively participates in the implementation of new and enhanced digital services. Based on each implementation, the level of participation will vary from serving as the project sponsor, working project manager to participating as a member of the team under the direction of another project manager or sponsor.

  1. Manages the relationship with 3rd party vendors specific to digital products

  1. Helps develop and maintain the annual budget for the digital function.

  1. Works with Director of Compliance and Director of IT to ensure technical performance, security, and audit and compliance standards are met.

  1. Participates as a member of the Business Continuity and DR Team, contributes to risk assessment and business impact analysis reviews.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

*Perform other duties as assigned.

*Position may require overnight travel to attend meetings, conferences.

*Position periodically requires periods of extended work hours to accomplish implementations and go-live tasks.

*Demonstrated success in leading and developing staff.

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience:  3 years’ experience in financial services with preference for digital services experience.   Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product or process management.
